“You’re Gonna Feel It:” U.S. Military Unveils New Crowd Control “Heat Ray”

Marine Col: “I think our forces will figure out the many different applications that it would have.”

The U.S. military has unveiled its newest approach to crowd control, the Active Denial System, a heat ray that sends out a high-frequency electromagnetic ray. People hit with the ray feel an intense, unbearable heat.  The military touts the ray’s “far-ranging” capabilities and is looking at “many different applications” for its possible use.

Marine Col. Tracy Taffola said at the public unveiling of the system at a U.S. Marines base near Washington, D.C.:

“You’re not gonna see it, you’re not gonna hear it, you’re not gonna smell it: you’re gonna feel it.”

In a video to demonstrate the new weapon, USFORCESTV explains that the heat ray “boasts a reach far beyond any other non-lethal system” — a reach of “about 7 footballs fields.”

The video shows various volunteers quickly running away from the heat ray, a situation unlikely to be available when the ray is aimed at a large crowd or if protesters are penned in in some way, as was witnessed by the pepper-spraying of Occupy protesters by police officers at very close range.

The Pentagon has been experimenting with killer beams for decades. A laser so powerful that it can destroy nuclear-tipped missiles shortly after launch has been mounted in a much-modified Boeing 747 and is being tested. […]

Various development versions of the heat ray have been tested for years. One was sent to Afghanistan – but never used – in 2010. Police departments have shown interest.

David Pugliese adds this comment from Marine Col. Tracy Taffola foreshadowing far-ranging use of the weapon:

“It could be used across the military spectrum of operations, perimeter security, crowd control, entry control points. You name it. I think our forces will figure out the many different applications that it would have,” Tafolla said.

We had a drone pilot as a guest speaker at one of our American Legion Post meetings. It was interesting to hear him talk. He said they get flight pay and hour credits as if they were actually airborne. Drones are also controlled from Arizona. He said they see some “interesting” things on roof tops on warm summer nights with the infrared night vision. Wonder what he meant?

The female drone controller is actually flying the aircraft.   Her flight instruments screen is located  in  the upper left of the lower central large monitor screen.  The other screens are views from the drone itself.

 

The control booths or rooms are made in Garland, TEXAS by Raytheon .

 

For non-pilots, these controllers are in Nevada and each is flying a drone on the other side of the world thousands of miles away , in the combat zone in Iraq and Afghanistan.   Their left hand is on the throttle controlling the drone’s engine.  The right hand is   flying the plane. All the buttons used to fly the drone are located on the joystick. The controller never removes his or her hand from the throttle.

 

Kill a Taliban leader then go home for lunch or dinner! Welcome to the new world. Imagine how big the communication pipe has to be to pump all the data necessary to perform these complicated tasks through it on the other side of the world in REAL TIME. It is not a modem you or I will ever get our hands on  at Radio Shack !!! This is modern warfare.

These aircraft carriers look formidable and of ultra modern design. There
are reports the 1st Chinese aircraft carrier is under construction and could
enter service around 2015 or earlier. It won’t be long before we see the
real thing. Defense analysts are waiting; watching anxiously.

THIS IS QUANTUM LEAP ABOVE ANYTHING WE HAVE ON THE DRAWING BOARD. THEY HAVE THOUGHT ” OUTSIDE THE BOX ” ON THIS ONE. BETTER SPEED, LARGER CAPACITY, MUCH MORE STABLE, ETC. DEFINITELY A ” BLUE-WATER ” LONG REACH VESSEL.
PLUS THEY CAN SERVICE THEIR NUKE SUB FLEET IN-BETWEEN THE TWIN HULLS ( SIGHT UNSEEN ) OR EVEN LAUNCH AMPHIBIOUS OPPS FROM SAME. IT WILL BE LAUNCHED IN HALF THE TIME IT TAKES THE USA AT JUST ONE-THIRD THE COST. ADD THE NEW CHINESE STEALTH FIGHTER BOMBER ( NAVAL VERSION ALREADY FLIGHT TESTING ) IN THE MIX AND YOU HAVE THE MAKINGS OF A FORMIDABLE WEAPONS SYSTEM INDEED..

ALSO LOOK AT THAT EXTRA ”PARKING AND READINESS” STATION BETWEEN BOTH HULL STRUCTURES.. AND OF COURSE THE LAUNCHING AND LANDING CAPABILITIES FROM THE UTILISATION OF TWIN FLIGHT DECKS AT ONCE

THEY ARE THE ONLY NATION OTHER THAN RUSSIA THAT CAN LAUNCH MEN INTO OUTER SPACE ( OUR CAPABILITY ENDS WITH THE LAST SPACE SHUTTLE LAUNCH THIS MONTH ). THEY HAVE ALSO SHOT DOWN A SURVEILLANCE SATELLITE ( ONE OF THEIR OWN ) FROM THE GROUND. PLUS THEY ” OWN OUR ASS ” IN THE INTERNATIONAL DEBT GAME.

CHINA’S NEW A/C CARRIER COULD BE TWICE AS FAST AS ANYTHING WE HAVE, PLUS THE STABILITY OF A CATAMARAN TYPE HULL WILL GREATLY REDUCE THE PITCHING, YAWING AND SWAYING COMMON TO OUR PRESENT DESIGNS.
