Great Opportunity! Live and Work Situation in East Maui Wilderness!

Live and Work situation in East Maui wilderness.

This is an opportunity for a single individual

or preferably a couple to come to Southeast Maui

to live and work maintaining our large

wilderness jungle property near the coast. The

position entails intensive mowing; clearing &

trimming grass and weeds; taking care of

chickens and fruit trees; the maintenance of

renewable off-grid infrastructure (power, water,

roads) and buildings. In exchange, we provide a

scenic and private living quarters with good

off-grid power and water; the use of a Jeep

Wrangler (or your truck); satellite internet;

and a modest monthly monetary stipend. This is

life in a wild tropical rain forest: wet, windy,

usually sunny with great hiking, hunting,

fishing, surfing, wild beaches and waterfalls

and diving nearby.

Our remote acreage on the slopes of Mt Haleakala

is far from development, powerlines, crowds and

stores. It provides an ideal lifestyle for one

or two self-sufficient independent, energetic,

stable, discrete individuals who thrive on hard

outdoor physical activity in a scenic natural

lifestyle. Opportunities for growing natural

food are endless, and herds of wild deer, pigs

and goats wander the property alongside our

flock of domestic chickens.

Required experience and abilities include safely

operating and maintaining a heavy tractor,

mower, weedwhacker, chainsaw, 4wd vehicles and

independent renewable power and water systems,

gardens and fruit trees in a rugged, wet & steep

environment. Occasional building and maintenance

projects are done as a team with the property

owners, long time Maui residents who are on the

property about half of the time. If you’re

willing to learn new skills and communicate, we

can help teach you.

This opportunity is available early July 2019 or

earlier. Military service veterans are

preferred. We’re looking for long-term situation

with the right individuals who can appreciate

the beautiful place and the quiet country

lifestyle, and live peacefully without drama.
