In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month this May, we’re excited to extend a heartfelt invitation to you for our upcoming webinar series hosted by the California Transition Assistance Program (CalTAP). At the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet), we are deeply committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of our veteran community, and this initiative is a testament to that commitment.

Mastering Resilience: Navigating and Coping with Life’s Stressors

Please join CalTAP, in partnership with U.S. Vets, and Cuyamaca College, for this interactive session as we explore strategies for navigating life’s stressors and building resilience in the face of challenges. Whether you’re actively serving, a veteran, or a family member, this workshop is designed to provide valuable insights and resources to support your mental well-being.

Discharge Upgrades

Please join the California Transition Assistance Program (CalTAP), in partnership with Citrus College’s Veterans Success Center, in a virtual event that will focus on discharge upgrades and the process of getting started. A representative will discuss eligibility and the process of upgrading a discharge or changing the character of service.

California Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Resources and Support

The State of California is at risk to many disasters such as fires, flooding, and earthquakes. The California Transition Assistance Program (CalTAP) has partnered with the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES). This workshop will provide information regarding preparation tips for disaster and emergency preparedness to California service members, veterans, and families.

Virtual workshop topics will include alerts and warnings, personal preparedness, records recovery, Local Interagency Network Coordinator assistance, and information Assistance Centers.

Suicide Prevention Through Early Intervention

Join the California Transition Assistance Program (CalTAP) in a discussion regarding suicide prevention through early interventions. A special guest from U.S.VETS – Outside The Wire will be present to offer information regarding resources that can help veterans cope with daily stressors and assess everyday risk.

Navigating the VA Healthcare System

Join us for a special virtual workshop providing an in-depth overview of the VA Healthcare System, presented in partnership with CalTAP, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and Samuel Merritt University. Participants will gain valuable insights into the VA Healthcare System, including its various services, eligibility criteria, and how veterans can access and navigate these resources effectively. This event is designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to support veterans in accessing the care they deserve.

Improving Mental Health
