Vietnam Veteran’s Education Center

Vietnam Veteran’s Education Center

For the past year I have been volunteering for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund in Washington D.C.

I collected photos of all 42 Maui County Fallen Soldiers from the Vietnam War. The goal is to find a photo of each Soldier whose name is etched on the Wall, all 58,272 of them. To date over 30,000 photos have been submitted including all the Maui County Soldiers.

After submitting each photo to the Virtual Wall in Washington D.C. I was asked by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund if I

could help raise money to honor the Maui Soldiers to build the Education Center. The Center will break

ground Veterans Day 2012, the 30th anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. They have

asked for $1,000 per Soldier, $42,000. The Education Center will be an underground facility adjacent to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. It will teach future generations about the Vietnam War and display the hundreds of thousands of memorabilia that have been left at

the Wall for the past 30 years.

VVMF is a non profit organization, all funds donated have been private, there is no government funding.

If you would like to make a donation to honor the Maui Soldiers please make all checks out to:

Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund c/o Paul Laub President Maui County Council

1003 Front St. Lahaina, Hawaii 96761

He will forward the checks to me to be recorded, then they will be sent to VVMF immediately.

If you prefer to use a credit card go to www.vvmf.org/thewall at the top right of the homepage click on Donate Now.

If you use this method of payment please email Paul Laub at mauilaub@aol.com to report the amount so I may

record the donation for Maui County.

Thanking you in advance for honoring our Maui boys who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Aloha and Mahalo Janna Hoehn
